MUSICALLY RELATED TOYS TO ENJOY.

In addition to guitars and amps are other unique items that are worthy of note. Dealer specialty items are quite interesting. Although they are not musical intsturments, they certainly bring character and color to a music room display. Here are a few such items. (Don't forget to click on the picture to enlarge it.)

B.B. King with Les Paul, WHAT a SIGHT!

Guitars and amps are wonderful but what about special promotional items? Here are a pair of giant 5' standups, B.B. and the infamous Les Paul headstock. A special thanks goes to Tom Roberson of DragonClaw Productions in Chicago for the LP.

Gibson Belt Buckle Display

On top is the 1979 Sunshine pewter buckle. Middle left brass was custom made by Gibson for DC in 1980. Middle right brass was a special dealer item and very rare. The lower row is the LP 25/50 Anniversary and RD, both difficult to find. The very bottom is an original case logo plate from the 50's.

Gibson Belt Buckle Display, Four More +.

The top left is the 1994 solid brass and has amazing detail including the Gibson Les Paul headstock.. Bottom left is the pewter 100th Anniversary buckle. Top right is the pewter LP from 1980. Bottom right is a special LP buckle issued by Norlin Canada. Top center is the Custom Shop badge used on special display cabinets. On the flanks are rare Gibson Vibra-Rests from the 1950's. The left one is gold, the right is nickel.

Gibson Classic Dealer Decal

This is a Gibson Authorized Dealer window decal that was never used as intended. It is the same vintage as the string items that follow. Now superior quality service is as hard to find as superior quality guitars.

Gibson Classic Neon Clock

Only available to Gibson authorized dealers is this 20 diameter neon clock made for Gibson by Image Time Co.. It sports the famous pick logo. Even though it is of fairly recent vintage (10 years old) it is extremly difficult to find. This example is virtually new.

Gibson Classic String Display

How many of these exist? This is another unique and different dealer item. It is designed to store strings for Gibson fretted instruments. The back is hinged for access to storage. The graphics are superb, right out of the early 1960's catalog. The cabinet is all wood. Thanks again to Jim Dulfer for this one.

Gibson Classic String Display Box

Now this one is amazing! Here is a dealer individual string display complete with gauge cards AND strings. The wood box is adorned with vintage Gibson graphics. The wood boxes are around but it is unusual to find one with a complete set of intact gauge index cards.

Gibson Classic String Road case

Here is a Gibson string case modeled after a drum road case. It is quite innovative. Also shown is a scarce Norlin-Gibson acrylic paperweight. Thank you, Roger Matthews

Gibson Classic String Selector

Here is the perfect item to accompany the String Display above. Notice that the logos are the same. This is an item from 1970 that attempted to help identify the proper string set for a particular guitar. Just turn the dial to the Gibson model and the suggested string set options are displayed. Not many of these survived. The price was $1.00! Both sides are pictured.

Gibson Classic Vintage Clock

Neon Products Corp. made advertising clocks for many companies in the 1960's. This is the seldon seen Gibson version. It hung in an Ohio music store for 40 years. It is a reminder of the Gibson glory days. A special "thank you" goes to Donna Fraley!

Gibson Dealer Counter Catalog

During the "Glory Days" at Gibson, catalog quality matched guitar quality. This is the epitome of perfection. Here is a 1975, 13 1/4" x 16 1/2" counter display catalog. This is the rare early one with the painted LP. Most of them were unpainted. The pages are as magnificent as the cover. Few of these have survived.
